Old people are more easier to be killed by the virus, and in China, Chinese old men and ladies are much more than those from other countries. When the central government found the problem of the virus, it began to try to limit the virus and find the way to heal people. Though the time seems late, most of people in China are still safe. And, one of the patients of Philippines dead few days ago. R.I.P

For those Chinese who insist the Westerners are the ones brainwashed, do they realize many of us (Chinese or not) living outside of China, could access their media while the opposite is not true? It is a textbook case of frog in the well.

I am going to have to assume that OP is trolling, having asked this question anonymously. But to speak to what may be part of OP's point, at least on Quora, many Chinese people seem to be hypersensitive to any negative reporting in the West on China, and completely ignoring the good press it gets. My wife is Chinese from China. She communicates regularly with family in China. My social interactions are primarily with Chinese immigrants these days. I do not think I have a particularly distorted view of China. I come across both positive and negative stories about China in the press, and I learn a lot about China just through the stuff my in-laws want to talk about. It's like talking about Christians. There are an awful lot in the U. S. that are considerate, and compassionate, and are not bludgeoning you with their faith. They are not the ones that get talked about on Quora. There is plenty of positive news we get in the West about China, but that's not what is getting the heated discussions going on Quora. Do you really think that Western news organizations that report on China do not have correspondents that actually read and speak the language, and spend time in country? The average American may not have much inclination to look at things from a perspective other than their own cultural biases, but that is true of just about anyone. Sometimes taking other cultural biases into account needs to be forced on one.You want to sound credible? Stop freaking out anytime someone has something to say about your country. You can point out where a criticism is based on false information or false understanding without accusing the critic of being brainwashed. You also gain a great deal of credibility with thinking people by acknowledging where your country has room to improve

Do Chinese brand cars sell outside of China?

Yes, Chinese made cars are sold all over the world, especially in South America, Africa and parts of Asia. The lower prices get them into many countries. Volvo and Buick sell Chinese made cars in the USA, too.

From the perspective of the non-Chinese, why are Chinese people occasionally thought less of, and how are we Chinese viewed by others outside of China?

Please give more detail on what you are experiencing. It's hard to tell from the question what happened to you where, so it's hard to say why. Some of your experience may be the normal difficulty of integrating into a foreign culture. I spent a summer in Madrid doing research and found that as a female graduate assistant I was completely ignored. The professor I went with was taken out to dinner and invited over to people's homes. I did not even spend any significant time with other graduate students. The other visiting grad student and I took time to visit other cities and important cultural locations. The only reaction that we got was that we had seen more of Madrid than the locals, which is sad. We managed to make friends with immigrants, but were ignored by the locals. A factor associated specifically with how authorities treat Chinese in business and research is the fear of having one's work or technology stolen. Protections on intellectual property are notoriously weak in China, so you may be being excluded or scrutinized to avoid transferring IP inadvertently. Hopefully, your personal experiences are better than your official ones.
